Detroit Sound Conservancy is proud to present the “Dance Detroit Record Pool Reunion” at this year’s Allied Media Conference. The event will be held June 20th at Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD) in Detroit as part of AMC’s “Dance Dance (R)Evolution” night. The event is free for conference participants or $15 at the door as space permits.
The event is inspired by Dance Detroit one of Detroit’s first Record Pools. Founded in 1977, Dance Detroit serviced a diverse group of Detroit DJs, from Detroit disco and house DJ Ken Collier to techno originator Juan Atkins and beyond. One of the pool’s founders, Steve Nader, died in 2011. You can read more about him and his career here. To celebrate, four former members of Dance Detroit will mix records in the garage of the Mike Kelley Mobile Homestead at MOCAD.

+ DJ 10 – 11 pm – Stacey “Hotwaxx” Hale

The event will be co-hosted with our adviser and ally Adriel Thornton of FreshCorp.
