Join Detroit Sound Conservancy for a night of conversation and celebration of Detroit’s legendary Club Heaven at Spot Lite on July 7th.
Detroit Sound Conservancy presents a celebration of Heaven, the legendary gay Detroit nightclub that inspired a generation of Black LGBT youth in the heart of Detroit. Club Heaven was beloved by dancers and DJs for its one-of-a-kind sound crafted by renowned DJ Ken Collier and amplified through the space by a custom hand-built sound system.
As part of our mission to preserve and amplify the history of Detroit’s musical heritage, DSC is proud to present this night featuring a panel conversation with stories shared by Club Heaven’s community followed by a tribute to the music of Heaven by one of Ken Collier’s proteges, DJ Tony Peoples.
Detroit Sound Conservancy staff and volunteers will also be in attendance to share more about our work and ways to get involved.
This is a free event with an encouraged $10-20 sliding scale donation to benefit the ongoing restoration of the Club Heaven Sound System.
Limited edition merch will also be for sale!
