Abstract: Steven Reaume is a visual artist, promoter, and a founding member of the Detroit party collective VOOM. This collection documents the nightclub scene of Metro Detroit and the weekly DJ nights, parties, and other events occurring in the electronic music and hip hop club scenes. Venues represented in the collection include the Reaume-managed INDUSTRY in Pontiac; Clutch Cargo’s, also in Pontiac; Detroit’s Hot Box; Alvin’s; Gruv Shack; the Shelter at St. Andrew’s Hall, and its weekly DJ night LIQUIDE; and many more. Artists represented in the collection include DJ D Wynn, Acid Pimp, DJ St. Andy, Aphex Twin, the Chemical Brothers, Juan Atkins, DJ Butch Duncan, Mike Huckaby, Carl Craig, the Lady Miss Kier, and many more. The collection is notable for also highlighting the queer electronic music scene at various venues.
