Abstract: Vistas: Latin World Magazine was a radio program produced by Myrna Abundis for WDET in the 1980s. Vistas covered a variety of topics related to the Latin world and issues affecting the Latin American diaspora community. Examples of topics covered in the collection include flamenco music, Latin American foods, mental health, bilingual education, AIDS, and folklore of Latin America. The collection includes various ¼” reel-to-reel tapes of the show along with their corresponding cue sheets. Also currently present in the collection is a small assemblage of commercially-produced 45s related to Detroit music. In the future these will enter DSC’s music library.
