Detroit Sound Techno: Movement Edition

Posted by & filed under Events, LANDMARKS, Photos, Places.

The DSC is pleased to be hosting a Detroit Techno Tour on Saturday, May 24th, for those in town for Movement Electronic Music Festival this Memorial Day weekend in Hart Plaza. Our co-host, Andrew Virden, has been a friend and sonic ally for years. He was a Founder of the Detroit Movement Guide and the former pre-Festival techno BBQ at Corktown Tavern, and this is the the third tour like this he has done. Virden designed the tour so newcomers to the city could see the Motor City beyond Hart Plaza during festival weekend. We will be traveling in a 42 passenger, bio-diesel bus from The Detroit Bus Company in order to see the birth place of the modern assembly line, the majesty of the Detroit’s architecture and arts, as well as music sites from jazz to Motown to techno. We believe that this is a must-see whether this year is your first time to Detroit or if you are a veteran of the festival. Space is limited. Tickets are $20 in advance, more on the day of the tour.
